The Complicated (versus
the complex)
Below a certain threshold of
M.C.D., and all man-made technological
devices are (still) below such threshold, we are not in the
presence of true complexity but in
the presence of the complicated, at times exquisitely organized
instrumentation. The same is true for most if not all human
institutions; financial-economic, social, productive, cultural,
etc. Even the theological models (simulations) are below complexity.
Only the true esthetic event perforates
the ceiling of the complicated to become part of the M.C.D.
realm, the domain of complexity.
