Welcome to the Arcosanti Foundry! We are one of two bronze foundries and one of four Solari bell production facilities. The original bronze foundry is down at Cosanti where bronze bell production started in 1963. The Arcosanti bell production facility was built in 1972. It was originally intended to be the Energy Apron Visitors Center with the foundry being there for the first two years only. After two years it was thought the foundry would move down to camp. Lucky for us that we work there now and still get to enjoy working in such a beautiful environment.

The Foundry supplies not only all the bells for the Arcosanti Gallery but also helps supply the Cosanti Gallery and the wholesale orders. We normally pour three heats (a hundred pounds of bronze) a day with an average of 50 bells a heat. That works out to 39,000 bells a year with a 93% success rate of pouring.

At the Arcosanti Foundry we also make all the rods and fins for all the bells made by Cosanti Originals. We make about 3,000 fins and 1,000 rods a month. Although easy to make, their numbers make rods and fins a time consuming project. This is one way a workshop participant can help.
