Arcosanti is a non-profit, educational institution, as such the
top priority of the project is to run the four week workshop programs,
which build and maintain the Arcosanti Arcology Prototype. The
Workshop Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to make
sure those workshop programs
are running, both as productive crews for the Arcosanti Crew Leaders,
and as an educational program for the participants.
The Workshop Coordinator
deals with participants from the very beginning and even past
the end of their workshop experience:
- The Coordinator
answers inquiries and questions form people interested in Arcosanti,
accepts the applications and registration from those coming in
to join
to the project.
- Creates the schedules for each four week
program.
- Organizes, and/or proctors
seminars on the Arcology hypothesis.
- Keeps
track of Workshop performance, while making sure that the Arcosanti Staff
is doing their best to attend to the educational needs of the
workshop.
- Helps Workshoppers while they are here.
- And finally, Officiates the Graduation
But it doesn’t stop there:
The Workshop
Coordinator is also the Alumni Liaison, and maintains contact
with Workshoppers after they leave Arcosanti, and acts
as the Volunteer Coordinator for those who stay on after
their four-week workshop.
The
Workshop Coordinator is usually the first point of contact for
people interested in Arcosanti, be it to attend the Programs,
or for educational research, or just curiosity. Typically the
Coordinator is available
to travel
around the local Arizona area to give talks and presentation
about Arcosanti, as well as a point person to send educational
and promotional materials nation, if not world-wide. Arcosanti
also
hosts and runs
regularly scheduled one week, and Custom Workshop Programs and
the Coordinator
makes sure that these programs run well.
If you are
interested in Arcosanti or the Workshops/Internships please feel
free to contact the Workshop
Coordinator. She can send you
information, and even come out to your location in Arizona, or
try to find
alumni
in your local area to come give a presentation. Also if you are
interested in attending or creating a Custom Workshop Program,
the Workshop
Coordinator is the person to contact.
